This past Sunday was Selection Sunday, the big day on the kick-off one of the biggest events in sports, March Madness. 65 teams are picked the title for a chance to participate in tournaments and compete for the coveted NCAA Basketball National. From the top seed to the middle of the big teams, everyone has a hope to reach the Final Four and ultimately win the title. Kansas is the # 1 overall seed in this year with Syracuse, Kentucky, and Duke.
(Before I continue, let me say that I'm not an expert in college basketball. I love March Madness, but as far as the teams go I know little about many teams in this tournament. I know, but know Maryland, my favorite team, and Duke, my least favorite team. Therefore, in these words, I will only say what I know. And of course feel free to disagree with me anyway.)
I personally think West Virginia or Ohio State may deserve to be on-site Duke, but I have my bias as a Maryland fan.To be fair, all three teams have played the track first. All three teams won their conference tournaments, but I feel that the ACC is weaker this year than usual. I'm not sure how Herzog, the winner of the game was the play-play when in Kansas is the No. 1 overall seed. Am I alone when I say I do not think is that good Duke this year? Hopefully Duke does not prove me wrong in the tournament! Although I think they got an easy draw with Villa Nova do (who has foughtTime), Baylor, and Purdue (who lost Robbie Hummel for the tournament). I'm not sure who they can top, but I hope someone does.
Now that I hated Duke on a bit, I will say in fairness that I am not sure that Maryland earned a # 4 seed because they are ranked according to the season 20 and blew it miserably in the ACC tournament. Greivis Vasquez just played one of his worst games of the year. I can not for his last second failed attempt a shot from my mind. It was terrible. MarylandI always do in big games. They have a good photo for the Sweet 16, but will play Kansas and I can not see how they could all get past Kansas, who is my pick to win. That assumes they can by Michigan State, who will always get hard in the tournament.
In the ACC tournament, Jon Scheyer was the one who as the ACC player of the year, not Greivis Vasquez played. He did not play great in the game, but he came through the bar against Georgia Tech in the ACCTournament finals. This is exactly what should a team leader and player of the year. It breaks my heart to say this, but I have to give credit when credit is due. Da'Sean Butler did the same for West Virginia in the Big East tournament. He came through the coupling by a last second shot to Georgetown in the finals, lost his second game-winner of the tournament.
And start as Thursday, the games. I'm super, as always, March Madness upset. I think it is probably the bestEvent in the sport. I have a few clips and plan to fill a few more to do. For those who do not know, and would like to try it for free on a console ESPN.com offers you a whopping 10 free clips this year. I'm sure this is not the last you hear from me during the tournament. Enjoy the "madness" everyone!
