This was a great basketball for about 9 months, though it does sound a little different when it bounces. After 9 months it started to lose its bounce so I had to remove the plug and pump it up. Once the plug had been removed once it started losing air much more quickly, and I had to pump it up much more frequently, about once/month. After 15 months the plug broke with part of the plug still in the hole. Since I can no longer pump it up, the ball has become my "always flat" basketball. It still has a great shell with good grip and feel. I just wish I could get some air into it.
